UCD90160A: Programming UCD90160A via I²C Interface

Part Number: UCD90160A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD90SEQ64EVM-650,

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am using the UCD90160ARGCR as a power sequencer in my custom design. For hands-on experience, I have previously worked with the UCD90SEQ64EVM-650 evaluation board and configured the device using the Fusion Digital Power Designer tool.

In my custom board, the UCD90160A is connected via an I²C interface, and I would like to know the proper method to program or flash the project file into the device's Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) over I²C.

Could you please guide me on how to achieve this, and whether TI provides any tools, protocols, or command sequences to support I²C-based flashing in a production or development environment?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Thanks & Regards
Navin

  • Hi, Navin,

Fusion Digital Power Designer provides tools to export the configuration into different file formats to use with 3rd party programming to program device's flash. Here is the link to the document: Configuration-Programming-of-UCD-Devices.pdf.

Section 4.1, page 4 describes how to export configuration to different file formats

Section 6.4, page 22 describes how to program data flash using microcontroller. Section 6.4.2.1 page 25 describes how Microcontrollers program data flash in Normal Mode (recommended)

Section 9.5, page 42 shows example.
