TPS4H000-Q1: TPS4H000-Q1 _OPEN LOAD detection resistor removal

Part Number: TPS4H000-Q1

Tool/software:

We are using Version A of IC PN TPS4H000-Q1

Question - Impact of not using Pull-Up resistor (R311, R312, R313, R314)_Pull up used for OPEN LOAD detection.

- ONLY fault detection will get impacted?

- Any other issue we will have?

  • Hello,

Removing the pull-up resistors will affect the open load detection in the fault state.

I see that there is a GND network in this application. The reverse current protection diode in the GND network forward voltage should be less than 0.6 V in any circumstances.

    Alan

  • Hi Alan, Thank you for the response, our application does not need OPEN LOAD detection capability hence if we remove the pull-up resistors will it impact any other functionality?

BYS10-45HE3_A/H the diode has good VF at 7mA hence maintaining V at GND <0.6V ||| We did optimized 1K as recommended by TI to 100 ohms while encountering failures at -5DegC

  • Hey,

Removing pull up resistors will not impact any other device functionality.

    BR,

    Alan
