Hi,

We are currently working on an inverter with the UCC5880,

We've been using it at different switching frequencies, and we seem to have an ADC_FAULT that occurs when we use it at 40KHz or more.

We are currently using ADC_SAMP_MODE = Continuous, as we want to have feedback even when we are not switching.

Do you have any information or recommendations ?

Hi Nicolas,

This is likely due to the FIFO buffer filling up. I recommend referring to Section 6.2.4.2: ADC Setup and Sampling Modes on the datasheet for more information.

Thank you for your quick reply,

It seems indeed that the problem is related to the filling of the FIFO buffer.

Is there any way to empty it or manage this FIFO as we don't really care about missing a few messages now and then?

Hi Nicolas,

I don't believe that there is a way to manually clear the FIFO.

You could try changing the fault action in the ACT register to be non-disruptive and keep clearing it or mask out the fault entirely.
