BQ25756: température sensor consumption

Part Number: BQ25756

Tool/software:

Hello

On the datasheet of the BQ25756 it is write for the TS pin

"Recommend 103AT-2 10-kΩ thermistor."

But a 10k thermistor and recommanded RT1=5.24k and RT2=30.31k with VREGN=5V have a consumtion of ~ 0.4mA.It is a high consumtion.

Why is recommanded 10k? Can i use 100k with 52.4k for RT1 and 300k for RT2?

  • Hello Simon,

For the most part, REGN (which powers the TS pin) only operates when the battery is charging. The 0.4mA is not being consumed all the time. Does this work for your system?

You could use a 100kΩ and a 52.4kΩ resistor, but this would make the TS pin more susceptible to noise.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

    Best Regards,
    Ethan Galloway
