TPS2HB16-Q1: Is it acceptable to open the EN1 or EN2 ?

Part Number: TPS2HB16-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS1HB16-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello!

Is it acceptable to open the EN1 or EN2 pin of TPS2HB16 if the one side output is not used?

Even if EN pin is open, do all the protection functions, such as protection against reverse battery connection, work?

Regards,

  • Hello Hojo-san,

There is no problem leaving one of the EN pins floating as there are internal pull-downs to ensure they are at the low state if disconnected.

All of the protection features will still be active as well.

If you are only using one channel you could also use the TPS1HB16-Q1 as it would be a better price-point.

    BR,

    Ava
