The gauge will already have predownloaded firmware on it. You will then have to run a learning cycle with the correct ChemID and collect a golden image which then can be applied during production. Let me know if that helps or if there is anything else.

Thanks for the explanation. So, if we have the golden image, the next step is to apply it during production.

However, we are wondering: is the EV2400 or Aardvark adapter the only way to apply it through I2C, or can the golden image be included in our firmware package?

Also, to verify that the settings have been successfully implemented, how can we read parameters such as battery voltage, charging current, etc., using I2C commands sent through an I2C interface like the EV2400?

I am a little confused by the question. Are you asking if TI can verify the generated golden file that it is correct? Or are you asking if TI can provide a default golden image?

Also, we are wondering if there is a possibility to download the golden image before SMT.

1. Use bqstudios to generate the golden image in an .srec file. As for extracting the .srec, you can do it by going to the "golden image" tab in BQstudio and exporting it from there on your fresh board. Then, you can use the programming/firmware tab to program that new .srec onto your devices.

2. I am unsure what you mean by SMT, could you elaborate?
