BQ76952: Temperature measurement problem in TS3 Pin of BQ76952EVM.

Part Number: BQ76952
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am testing BQ76952EVM. I wanted to get the temperature reading from TS3 pin for this I have configured TS3 pins in the data memory to "0b" to report temperature (18K as pullup resistor) .TS1 shows the correct temperature. But TS3 pin is still showing -273.2 C. I have checked both the thermistor across TS1 and TS3 and found it be completely working (i.e. showing variation in resistance with temperature). However, there is no voltage across TP8 pin.

Pls Can somebody pls explain me what the issue is, am I missing something??
  • Hello Sarthak,

    Thank you for your patience.

    • To double-check , are you using 'Scan' and/or the 'Refresh' on the 'Registers' tab to make sure it's updating?
    • If TP8 is not reading any voltage, it also sounds like the configuration didn't hold potentially. After clicking  'Write_All' and 'Read All' in the 'Data Memory' tab, does it still read 0x0b?
    • Have you also tried reading the TS3 Config register through the 'Command Sequence' on bqStudio to confirm as well?
      • The EVM User Guide shows how to use the command sequence (Section 3.8 Command Sequences)
      • The Software Development Guide may also be helpful to refer to in showing how to read it

    Best Regards,
    Alexis
