TPS7A53: TPS7A5301RPSR

Part Number: TPS7A53

Tool/software:

Hello, i m designing a schematic using the TPS7A5301RPSR to power up an LTE module. he LDO output target is a 3.7V, 3A and 5V input. Is the schematic is acceptable in the picture below? Also is it recommended to use this regulator for this type of application

Thanks.

  • Hello Omar,

After looking through your circuit, I found that based on the resistance values you chose- the output voltage of the system would actually be closer to 3.5V. To make your output closer to 3.7V I recommend replacing resistor R316 with a 3.33k Ohm resistor. Other than that, the circuit looks pretty good and should have the functionality you desire.

One detail to take into consideration though, is that your chip will be consuming around 3.9 Watts. Your power consumption is high. When calculating for different scenarios, the temperature of the chip gets well over the thermal shutdown temperature.

    Best,

    Abraham
