BQ4050: Writing registers in manufacturing line

Part Number: BQ4050
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Tool/software:

Hello team,

I had a quick question on how customer can write register settings on BQ4050 in manufacturing line.

Right now, customer is evaluating our BQ4050 for their robot vacuum cleaner battery pack project. On their PCB, they only have the gauge IC and no MCUs, since it is a battery pack.

1. Should they write on manufacturing line with our BQstudio GUI? Or I've seen with other ICs that TI provides ICs with register settings written into the IC on TI manufacturing line then ship those to customers. Could this be the cause for BQ4050?

2. What step-by-step process does customer have to do to write their parameter settings on BQ4050? Are there any sections in TRM that I can check for example?

As a NCG I do not have many experience with gauge ICs, so I wasn't too sure how BQ4050 would write the parameter settings. Please let me know.

Thank you in advance for your help and support.
