Tool/software:
Dear All, In our design implementation, we are utilizing the TPS62120DCNR component, which has specified operating temperature limits of –40 to 85°C and a maximum junction temperature (TJ) of 125°C according to the datasheet specifications. An important consideration is that the ambient temperature (TA) is directly influenced by the maximum junction temperature, which is determined by the power dissipation (PD) of the device.
Upon performing calculations considering the relationship between junction temperature (TJ) and maximum power dissipation, our analysis indicates that the ambient temperature could potentially reach up to 122°C. I have couple of queries & clarification required.
Queries :
- Could you please check is this ambient calculation based on the maximum power dissipation & TJ ..?
- Is it acceptable to operate the device in conditions where the ambient temperature exceeds 85°C, provided that the junction temperature remains below the maximum specified limit of 125°C?
