TPS7B81-Q1: SMD Socket Recommendation

Hi team,

Our customer is evaluating TPS7B8150QDRVRQ1, and they are looking for a SMD socket as shown below.

Purpose is to have the lower socket soldered onto a master PCB, and the upper socket mounted on the lower socket.

Master PCB would be an actual customer's ECU that already has the correct pads for TPS7B8150QDRVRQ1 soldering.

Could you please confirm if there is any recommended socket for this component that customer could purchase?

    Hi Muwei,

    We do not have a recommended socket for this application. A flexible PCB interposer could be used to interface between the existing footprint and a WSON-6 socket. If this approach is used, thermal performance of the device will be significantly degraded, as the DRV package relies on good thermal conductivity from its ground pad to the PCB to dissipate heat from the package.
