LM5155: Threshold for pulse skipping operation

Hello team,

My customer is evaluating LM5155 and they observed no switching period at light load. But they cannot identify if the "no switching" is caused by pulse skipping operation.

Do we have information for threshold of entering pulse skipping operation?

Hi Shotaro,

Thank you for using e2e forum.

There is no defined threshold for the device to enter the pulse skipping, If the controller is operating in DCM then it is in PSM. It depends on a technical specs, inductor value and so on. So the threshold is variable.

Please use this https://www.ti.com/tool/POWERSTAGE-DESIGNER tool to check for your specifications the controller is in DCM or CCM.
