TPS25772-Q1: Thermal caluculation: PMP40933

Part Number: TPS25772-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I want to confirm how to estimate thermal generation.

In case of Vin=13.5V, Vout/Iout=20V/3A, efficiency is around 96%.

Power loss is 60Wx4%=2.4W. Since ψJB=7.2C/W, deltaT=17.28C.

Seeing from test report, deltaT is reach to 65C. Can you explain the gap between calculation and test result?

The worst case from the customer is Tamb=90C, it is hard to use 60W in that situation, is there any good idea to handle it?

Regards,
