LM5149: High effcient 48V DC to 5V DC regulator reference design

Hi

I need a small power supply with above 90% efficiency from 2.5Watt to 5Watt  output.

Input voltage is 48V DC

Output voltage is 5V DC, maximum power output needed is 5Watt

Is there a reference design that can handle that high efficiency?

    Hello Oystein,

    Looking at our converters with internal FETs you can obtain around 85%.  A controller seems to be overkill, recommend the LM5148 if you are determined to optimize efficiency to your spec.  As such there is no ref design for this spec.

    please use the calculator spreadsheet in online product folder to estimate your efficiency for selected FETs.  Please note, this device has 5V gate drive and will need logic level FETs.  Hope this helps.
