LP38869: Pull-up resistor connected to the reset signal

Part Number: LP38869
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28377D

Tool/software:

The datasheet states that the pull-up resistor connected to the reset signal of the LP38869 should be 100kΩ, but considering noise, I would like to use 4.7kΩ. I also plan to connect it to the /XRS pin of the TMS320F28377D. The datasheet specifies a connection between 2.2kΩ and 10kΩ. What do you think?

  • Hey,

Thank you so much for your question and your patience,

Using a 4.7kΩ pull-up resistor to connect the LP38869 RESET pin to the TMS320F28377D /XRS pin is valid. It improves noise immunity, falls within the TMS320F28377D’s recommended 2.2kΩ–10kΩ range, and is acceptable for the LP38869 despite its typical 100kΩ suggestion. No issues with this approach.

    Thanks,

    Vahnroy
