Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5860, USB2ANY,
Tool/software:
Hi, I acquired an LP5860 EVM a couple of months ago but it seems to have failed, When using the interface tool it states that the device connects but as soon as I change parameters and click enable the enable button goes green and then goes grey and the device will not connect again until I disconnect and reconnect the USB.
Up until now I had my own software reading / writing the registers on the device.
The last change was that I had connected up 5V to LED_EXT and then after powering up the device it would no longer respond to read requests and the behaviour mentioned above was seen in the development tool.
At present all jumpers are in the default position and no external power is applied (I have had the demo working previously in this configuration). I can't see any thermal or mechanical damage.
I have always found the USB2Any device to be a little temperamental so I am not certain whether this is that device not working or if I have managed to set a register with a value that is incompatible / requires other hardware control? Can the LP5860 software tool reset all registers from any state?
Can I get this replaced or should I try to desolder and replace the chip myself?
