Hi All,

I have a question about the TPS16530EVM.

The circuit diagram shows that the 7pin NC has a divided VIN voltage input.

Why is this?

I understand sense to connect the NC terminal to GND or OUT or IN depending on the layout.

Please tell me why pin 7 is input by resistor division.

Hello Ishiwata,

I am not sure why this is done. My assumption is 7th pin is right next to UVLO -6 pin and same net is connected to 7th pin.

It should be marked UVLO instead of VIN and resistor divider. I will check and get back.

Is the terminal connected to any circuit internally? What kind of test is it for?

Does the terminal need to be left open?

Hello Shuji,

TPS1663 (another device of this family) can be kept on channel-1 and tested. That's why NC-7 is connected to resistor divider since pin-7 of TPS1663 is UVLO pin.

Yes, NC pins can be left open.

I understand that pin 7 is resistor-divided to evaluate the TPS1663 with the TPS1653EVM.

I understand that pin 7 of the TPS1653 can be connected to anything, such as open or GND, but is that correct?
