BQ27426: RSOC drop a lot

Part Number: BQ27426

Tool/software:

Hi experts,

Customer use BQ27426 and there is a issue that after stop charging, RSOC will drop suddenly. The schematics is shown here. Log data shows the RSOC change from 6067 to 5140 when current is 0. Could you pls help to analyze this issue? Thanks!

  • This indicates that the gauge never detects a valid charge termination. Please make sure that you set the charge termination parameters correctly:

    7.4.2.3.10 Taper Rate, Taper Voltage

The gauge will have to detect a full charge. The idea is to set Taper Rate so that the effective Taper Current is 10% higher than the current when charging stops. If cell voltage is within the Taper Voltage range (other conditions apply, see 7.4.2.3.10) and the current drops below this threshold for 80 seconds, the gauge will record the voltage in its data memory parameter V at Chg Term and uses this together with Taper Rate to map the present level of discharge (DOD at EndOfCharge) to 100% SOC.
