Can the TPS25751D duplicate the '730D's dedicated pin functions with GPIO's, and how would that be done?

Hi Bill,
No, we only have two of those GPIOs available.
The TPS25751 requires an external configuration and patch image that is loaded on power up of the PD controller. This image is generated using the TPS25751 GUI. Within the GUI, you can configure the GPIOs for specific events by enabling Advanced Configuration at the top of the GUI, and navigating to the IO Config register.
The TPS25751 supports specific PD related behaviors that can be mapped to any of the GPIOs. The GPIO event drop down menu allows you to select the specific event. The full list of events and their behavior can be found in the TPS25751 TRM
Here is a list of the TPS25730 PIN and the equivalent TPS25751 GPIO Event
CAP_MIS - not supported
Plug_event - PlugEvent
Sink_EN - Load_Switch_Drive
With the TPS25751, you can instead read from the active RDO register to determine if there is a capability mismatch.
Thanks and Regards,
Chris
