What do you mean by 'topology.' It is used as the PWM controller. Here is page 2 of the schematic. It is U7. This one is defective. No output on pin 4 and 6.
BTW, TI's website does not a have a datasheet for the UCC2897. The search results end up with a datasheet for the UCC2891 through UCC2894.
Here is the link for the part: https://www.ti.com/product/UCC2897A
Topology means like LLC, forward, PSFB, etc. Because it is a PWM controller, you can configure it differently. UCC2897A is a active clamp forward controller so if UCC2580-3 is used in other topologies, we may recommend different replacement part.
The schematic is not complete. Please provide the power stage schematic.
Here is all 4 pages of the schematic
115VAC Pwr Supply schematic.pdf. Let me know if there is an available substitute.
Thanks
Hi,
The best substitutes are UCC2897A if peak current mode control is ok, if you want to have voltage mode, then LM5025.
Hi,
We do not have an IC directly to make replacement. But in terms of number of pins, LM5025 is a 16-pin IC.
UCC2891 is also a 16 pin devices
But these are not SOIC-16.
