BQ24725A: BQ24725A – Audible switching noise

Part Number: BQ24725A

Tool/software:

Hello,

I'm using the BQ24725ARGRR in a battery charging application.

At an input voltage of 15 V, charging current around 2.3 A, and battery voltage near 13 V, the converter emits audible switching noise at about 8.25 kHz.

The setup includes:

  • Input capacitors: ceramic CL31B106KAHNNNE (10 µF) + low-impedance electrolytic

  • Inductor: TMPA0603S-6R8MN-D (6.8 µH)

  • Output capacitors: 2× CL31B106KAHNNNE (10 µF), adding 2 more did not help

  • External FETs: KON2240 (AON2240 equivalent)

What should I do to eliminate or reduce this audible noise?
If additional information is needed, please let me know what to check or where to look for the root cause.

Best regards,
