TPS25751: Control of external DCDC for USB-PD SRC

Part Number: TPS25751
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS55288

Tool/software:

Hi,

My customer wants to control "output voltage" and "output enable" of DC/DC through I2Cc by TPS25751.  Could you please let us know how to write this command through GUI on TPS25751?   I seem 4CC command of I2Cr/I2Cw is used, but I do not know it how to do it through GUI.  Please advise us.

PS. They plan to use TPS55288 DC/DC.

Thanks and best regards,
M.HATTORI.

  • Hi M. Hattori,

Do you know why they are using the TPS55288? Typically the only DC-DC devices supported directly by the TPS25751 are the BQ devices that are listed in the Datasheet and GUI. If they want to use a different DC-DC, they may need to control the DC-DC and PD controller using an MCU/EC.

Has this customer used PD controllers before? Have they done projects in the past with these devices? How big is this project?

The I2Cr and I2Cw allows a host to write a command to the PD controllers I2Ct port, triggering the PD controller to send an I2C command through its I2Cc port. It is not used through the GUI.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris
