Could you clarify the VOUT range? Do you want adjustable VOUT from 0 to 18V or some intermediate values? Also is the power fixed at 800W, what is the maximum load current?

For high currents like 44A, I would suggest going for a dual phase solution. You can have a look at lm25143 : https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm25143.pdf , a dual channel buck controller.
To get adjustable output, one method is to use a DAC to control the feedback voltage. You can refer : https://www.ti.com/document-viewer/lit/html/SSZT335 for more information.
