Can you suggest a best alternative for 3S charging? Thanks!

Requirement:

1. 3S1P, Li-on

2. 12,V, 15V adapter

3. Power management path

4. 3A for battery charging, 6.5A for system powering.

5. I2C, monitor charging status

6. 0-V charging will be better.

Hi Kailun,

With 12V and 15V adapters and VREG=12.6V, you will need a buck-boost converter. For 9.5A total current, I recommend BQ25750.

Can BQ25730 be applied here? For smaller package and cost.

Kailun,

Yes but BQ25730 does not provide charge termination. It expects a gas gauge to be monitoring the voltage and current. Then the host software monitors the gas gauge and sends an I2C write to the BQ25730 to disable charge. The BQ25750 includes termination feature.
