TPS25751: Discover Identity Request when connecting a USB cable that does not support E-Marker

Part Number: TPS25751

Tool/software:

Dear Sirs and Madams,

When a non-E-Marker compatible USB cable was connected to the TPS25751, we confirmed that Discover Identity requests were frequently made to the USB cable.

The frequency was confirmed to be three times before PS_RDY and 16 times after PS_RDY.

As shown below, Vender Defined is sent four times in a row at 47 ms intervals.

When using a USB cable that does not support E-Marker, is it correct to understand that this type of behavior does not pose a problem in terms of the USB PD standard?

Also, is it possible to set whether or not to request Discover Identity?

Regards,

Masashi
