Tool/software:
Please find attached schematic file for voltage regulator, this part is used for converting 5vdc to fix 3.3vdc.
I request to technical review, and let me know if any changes required.

Hello Kaushik,
There is risk of running into thermal shutdown if the load is 1Amp. The ambient to junction thermal resistance is 80.3 C/W and the power dissipation would be 1.7w at 1amp, rising the temperature 136.5C over the ambient temperature.
Also, the note states "If the MCU controls the EN pin (TPS74633), remove the resistor R46". I think resistor R45 should be removed instead and R50 be installed.
Regards,
Daniel
Just a note: if the maximum load current is sustained for an extended period of time, the regulator may enter into thermal shutdown if the ambient temperature surpasses 70C. With a continuous current consumption of 300mA, the maximum recommended operating temperature is close to 100C.
Best regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
As per datasheet formula = TA(MAX) = TJ(MAX) – RθJA × PD
TA(MAX) = 150°C – 80.3°C/W × (5 V – 3.3 V) × (0.6 A) = 71.09°C.
If I wrong please correct me,
If its not works, for safe side can you please suggest new part number for load ratings of 3.3V / 600mA. Our system Input Voltage is 5V ±10%
Hello Kaushik,
What is the maximum expected operating ambient temperature?
Regards,
Daniel
Hello Kaushik,
The regulator should work then as the junction temperature will reach 150C, when the ambient temperature is approximately 70C at max load.
Best regards,
Daniel
