Part Number: BQ76907-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76907

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

What's the select faults as below flow show? And does the BQ76907-Q1 would trigger ALERT signal when it enters SHUTDOWN mode from NORMAL, SLEEP, DEEPSLEEP mode? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Ryker

  • Hello Ryker,

I highly recommend using the BQ76907 Technical Reference which is linked here:

    https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluucj0/sluucj0.pdf?ts=1751042081558

This outlines the faults related to entering Shutdown mode in more detail.

    1. Temperature Fault
      1. Power:Shutdown:Shutdown Temperature
        1. Configuration of this temperature value is available
      2. Settings:Cell Balancing:Max Internal Temp
      3.  Settings:Configuration:Power Config[OTSD]
        1. Hardware overtemperature detection, available in Normal, Sleep, and Deepsleep
        2. Temperature exceeds a temperature of approximately 120 C
        3. Check out the SHUTV alarm option to see whether the alert has been asserted
    2. Communication Timeout Fault
      1. Power:Shutdown:Auto Shutdown Time
    3. Cell Voltage
      1. Power:Shutdown:Shutdown Stack Voltage, and Power:Shutdown:Shutdown Cell Voltage
        1. Evaluated continuously in Normal mode, and in burst measurements  in Sleep mode
    4. LFO stops oscillating or deviates significantly in frequency vs. expected value.
      1. Available in Normal, Sleep, and Deepsleep modes
    • These faults can be diagnosed using the REGOUT LDO, description found at 6.19 REGOUT Diagnostic Protection
      • Available in Normal, Sleep and Deepsleep modes
    • These faults are also alerted on the ALERT pin, pulled low when an alarm signal is generated.

    Thank you,

    Pranav Ananthan

  • Hi Pranav,

    What's the timeout_fault_o, action_sel_i input, shutdown_req_o, SYSFAULT1[TSD]? I can't find these registers in Manual. Thanks.

    Best Rerards,

    Ryker

  • I have amended my original response. I hope this clarifies any additional questions you may have.

    Thank you!
