Hi,

I am designing a 2-phase bidirectional buck-boost converter with a LM5171-Q1. Specification provided below:

Vin=8V

Vout=12V

Iout=360A

Considering efficiency of 90%, calculated Input current is 600A. Ie inductor current per phase will be 300A. Will LM5171-Q1 support this high current application with 2-phase? Is there any maximum current or power limitation for LM5171-Q1?

    Hi Archin,

    I think it is not a good idea for 300A per phase.

    I would suggest to start from 50A per phase. It is not difficult to build a six-phase system with LM5171.

    It will be much easier to handle the heat and voltage stress of 50A rather than that of 300A.
