I found that in LM74930-Q1 datasheet, there was a photo about Unsuppressed Load Dump 200 V - Output Clamp, but in LM74910 datasheet, there was no such kind of test picture.
What's the difference between LM74930-Q1 and LM74910-Q1? I didn't find TVS or something clamping in LM74930 block diagram, how can it clamp dump voltage?
by the way, I have a waveform test about 5b load dump for your reference. red channel indicates 74910 output and green channel indicates 74930 output, as you can see, green channel(74930) has great performance under clamping load dump voltage, but red channel(74910) has an inrush voltage(38V) and then shut down, is it caused by slow response time?
how to debug this issue?
Hi Wang,
The spike is not caused by slow response time. It can be because of probing issue. As seen in the datasheet, it doesnt happen.
I see that the waveforms shared by you are noisy and hence it is possible that its more if probing issue.
