Hi,

I am using the TPS54201DDCR to drive 28 IR LEDs (2 circuits 850nm and 940nm IR LEDs). Please review the schematic and share your feedback.

Design details:

Vin: 12V

For the 850nm IR LEDs:

Forward voltage per LED: 1.5V
Total forward voltage per string (4 LEDs): 6.0V
Forward current: 42.5mA
Sense resistor: 4.7 ohm

For the 940nm IR LEDs:

Forward voltage per LED: 1.3V
Total forward voltage per string (4 LEDs): 5.2V
Forward current: 42.5mA
Sense resistor: 4.7 ohm

Inductor: 1mH (calculated requirement was 580uH, but 1mH is used due to availability)

Let me know if you see any issues or have suggestions for improvement.

The C161/C168 22uF capacitor should be placed as below:

For the LED strings, I didn't see how the current mirror balance the current of each strings? Can you please also share what's the end equipment? Thank you!

Hello Gui,

Thanks for the feedback. This IR led ring used in our hunting camera board. I followed TI IR LED string with ballasting reference circuit TIDA-01586.
