TPS40210: for battery applications

Hi Team,

The converter output turns off after loading >0.5A.

Customer tried circuit as per webench design. Does this IC work for battery charging application? Like fixed 2A current mode control.

    Hello Andreas,

    The converter regulates the voltage on the FB pin. Dependent on what you are applying there, e.g. a resistor divider for voltage control or a resistor (as can be seen on the TPS40211 EVM) in series to LEDs, the voltage drop on this resistor.

    So if you want to charge with a constant current, you should use TPS40211 as the FB voltage is lower.

    If you need a more detailed check of the circuit, please share the schematic.
