TPS16630-32EVM: It is necessary to connect the NC pins to GND?

I have a question about the NC pins in EVM. tps16632RGER datasheet shows the NC pins(3,4,15,19,20,21,22,23,24) are not connected. But in the EVM, I find the pin 3 and pin4 are float, pin 19~23 are connected to GND, pin 24 is connected to VIN.

Could you please help explain why it connected like this? If all of the NC pins are float, is there any issue?

Hello Sun,

NC pins can be left floating or connected to GND.

It's provided to accommodate other similar IC on same EVM.

Hello Sun,

Larger GND area around eFuse will show better thermal performance. So, if you connect NC to GND which means bigger GND plane.

Electrically NC pins are not connected to anywhere inside IC
