BQ24072: AA battery

Hi,

1. As a product specification, we are considering a design that can connect either a Li-ion battery or an AA battery (3S). Is it OK to connect a 3-line AA battery to this IC?

2. In this case, is there any pin function that needs to be set as the IC?

    Hi Nishie,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    AA batteries should not be connected to this IC. I'd recommend using a load switch, ideal diode, or similar device for an alternative power path to supply the system load when AA batteries are used instead of a Li-ion battery.
