TPS56837H: Regarding the design of TPS56837H

Part Number: TPS56837H

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer is considering using a buck converter with the following specifications:

  • Input voltage range: 22.8 to 25.2V
  • Output voltage: 21.5V
  • Output current: 7A
  • Switching frequency: 300kHz or higher
  • Adjustable soft start

We have selected the TPS56837H based on these specifications and its cost-effectiveness. However, we are concerned because the output voltage range is up to 22V, which is very close to our requirement.

According to the recommended operating conditions, the SW pin is rated at 28V, and the maximum absolute rating is 32V, so we believe it should be fine.

Could you clarify where the 22V output voltage rating comes from?

Additionally, we designed using WEBENCH and did not encounter any significant issues, so we believe it should be fine in terms of specifications.

If there are any other recommended devices that meet the above specifications, please let us know.

Best regards,

Kyohei
