Hi,

I want to make an ssr with a bidirectional MOSFET bridge for switching 24V DC or AC current max 5A (depending on the bridge output connection) driven by a TPSI3050.
I'm wondering what the best solution is for short circuit and overload protection.

Hello Rok,

Currently, our best solution is to use our new TSPI3100-Q1 family of devices.

On page 36, you can find a bi-directional overcurrent protection circuit that may be able to suit your needs. We are always happy to review your schematics!

Hi Jack,

Thanks for the quick reply.
I chose TPSI3050 because it has an input signal up to 48V, so I need to change the concept a little.
As I see with TPSI31XX I need a microcontroller which is not a problem, but TPSI31XX does not exist on the Chinese market yet, which I plan to order a prototype there.
Which current sense amplifier do you recommend?

Hello Rok,

Our EVM uses an INA181, but you may use a non-TI current sense amplifier. You can purchase our TPSI3100-Q1 directly on ti.com.
