TLV62568: TLV62568 Circuit Review and Current-related Inquiry

Part Number: TLV62568
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , TPS62808, TPS62840

Tool/software:

Hi, TI expert

The customer configured a circuit that receives DVDD_MAIN (3.5-5.5V) input using TLV62568 and generates 3.3V.

However, in the Off state, I was able to confirm that a lot of current of 3~10mA is measured when DVDD_MAIN is input.

The product's output current is expected to be around 10mA on average when Active and less than 50 uA when Off.

Q1) Could you please review if there is a problem with the schematic?

Q2) Will this problem be solved if I separate the EN pin from the VIN pin?

Please check. Thank you.

  • Hi Grady Lee,

Thanks for reaching out, we have reviewed your schematic which is ok. Can you clarify us what is the definition of OFF state here:
    1. When there is no input voltage (since EN is shorted with VIN).
    2. When there is any input voltage between 3.5-5.5V but no load at output.

Also, the Quiescent current of the device as you mentioned is in the range in datasheet specifications as shown which is ~3mA - 10mA (8.2.3) (page#10):

Finally, can you tell us what is the source of less than 50uA, is it the shutdown current you are referring from datasheet which is maximum 2uA when EN = 0V?

Please let us know with the additional details and if there is any other concern. Would be happy to help you!

    Best Regards,
    Zakir

  • Hi Zakir

    Thank you for response.

But, the Quiescent currency part that you confirmed seems to be the datasheet of TLV62568A.

The datasheet of TLV62568 that I inquired about does not have the corresponding graph content, and it is listed in the datasheet as follows.

Anyway, I checked with the customer again, and they said that they are considering changing it to TPS62840 or TPS62808, so I will close this case.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Grady Lee,

No worries but just for the information, the customer has used a device of TLV62568ADRLR in the schematic which means that they need to refer to the datasheet of TLV62568A. If they are using the TLV62568 device and seeing the same issue then let us know but for us it seems that they are using the other A version device which is an FPWM device.

    Best Regards,
    Zakir
