Hi,

I'm looking to use this part, (LMQ66420MA5RXBRQ1) for my application and I just wanted to ask if this device has an internal OVP? I can see it written on the datasheet that the transient protection is up to 42V. But I want to learn more details with regards to that, in order to consider the kind of protection circuit that I should use such as OVP, OCP and reverse voltage protection.

    Hi,

    There is no OVP for this device, but it is validated to handle transient voltages up to 42V despite having a recommended operating VIN max of 36V. 

    This device does have integrated over-current protection. You can see those details in section 8.3.9 of the datasheet.
