UCC28070A: How to Safely Disable One Phase of UCC28070 for Single-Phase Testing

Part Number: UCC28070A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28070

Tool/software:

Hello,
I am designing a 4 kW PFC circuit using the UCC28070.
This is my first time working on a power circuit, so I am not confident whether my design is working properly.

For testing, I would like to operate only one phase and confirm that it works correctly at 2 kW before using both channels.

I tried grounding CSB and CAOB to disable the second channel (Phase B), but the board was damaged.

Now I am considering two other options to disable Phase B:

  1. Removing the boost inductor of Phase B

  2. Removing the gate resistor of the Phase B MOSFET

Would any of these methods be safe and effective?
I would really appreciate your guidance on how to safely disable one channel for testing.

Thank you!
