BQ76942: Partial Reset Behavior

Part Number: BQ76942

Tool/software:

Hi team - I have a question about the partial reset behavior using the RST_SHUT pin.
Based on the datasheet, it appears that asserting this pin for less than 1 second triggers a partial reset of the device.

- Could you please confirm if there is a deterministic minimum assertion duration required for the chip to reliably detect and execute this reset?

- Additionally, I would like to understand how the I²C engine of the device is affected during or after this partial reset. I was unable to find this information in the technical reference manual—apologies if it was overlooked.

Thanks,

Jacob

  • Hello Jacob,

Could you please confirm if there is a deterministic minimum assertion duration required for the chip to reliably detect and execute this reset?

I don't believe we have that information on hand. I can double-check this with the team and let you know if that changes.

Additionally, I would like to understand how the I²C engine of the device is affected during or after this partial reset. I was unable to find this information in the technical reference manual—apologies if it was overlooked.

This BQ769x2 RESET FAQ may help further explain the partial reset and reset function of our device.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Alexis - Thanks for the comments. Did you learn any more information for the first comment you were going to double-check on?

  • Hello Jacob,

Unfortunately not. Has the customer seen a partial reset not reliably working when the RST_SHUT pin is held for a short enough time?
