LM2940C: Negative Temperature range

Hi, 

Base on spec in below table, Can we use p/n LM2940CT-15/NOPB under Negative Temperature range <0°C ?   Any critical effect to device functions ?

    Hi Sutthinee,

    I wouldn't, you cannot guarantee the LM2940CT-15/NOPB will operate properly below 0'C. The device may have startup issues; I wouldn't expect it to start up reliably below 0'C.  A lot of parts with a 0'C rating have a very small margin below the minimum before startup issues occur. It's a somewhat common issue with the older designs.
