TPS7H4001-SP: About PCMC configuration

Part Number: TPS7H4001-SP

Tool/software:

Hello.

Does the TPS7H4001-SP have the same PCMC configuration as Figure 1. in the application brief : SBOA187E?

If so, how should I calculate the voltage at the "-" terminal of the PWM generation? (I could not find any information on the datasheet.)

If not, What kind of configuration does the TPS7H4001-SP have?

Thanks and Regards,

koji

  • Hello Koji-san,

The TPS7H4001-SP does use peak current mode control (PCMC), and at a high-level it is similar to what is shown in Figure 1 of SBOA187E.

In the TPS7H4001-SP, the circuitry to perform PCMC is integrated into the device and the control loop is configured using the VSENSE pin (voltage error amp inverting input) and the COMP pin (output of the voltage error amp). Equations to calculate component values for a particular implementation are provided in the datasheet.

The "PWM Generation" block you are referencing is completely internal to the device, and would be represented most closely by the "HS MOSFET Current Comparator" block in the Functional Block Diagram on page 27 of the device datasheet.

If you let me know what you are trying to accomplish with this, I may be able to provide additional information or assistance.

    Thanks,

    Andy
