TPS53688: VCCIO Termination - if SVID is unused

Dear TI Forum,

in a TPS53688 design, which uses only PMBus and Channel A. What is the correct termination for VCCIO?

The PMBus uses a supply which is always on and not VCC of the controller.

SV_CLK and SV_DIO are connected to GND and SV_Alert is open, as per datasheet request.

Should I connect VCCIO via 10k to one of the two supplies (preferred VCC)?

Hi Moritz,

If neither VCCIO or BVR_EN are being used, it's fine to go ahead and ground the pin.

Which function should I select for pin 20?
It sounds more reasonable to select BVR_EN if Channel B is not used.

Hi Mortiz,

You're very welcome, the pleasure is ours.

You are correct, configuring pin 20 as BVR_EN makes the most sense. I personally haven't heard of any "false positive" VCCIO UV events with configuring pin 20 as VCCIO and connected to GND, but I recommend leaving it as BVR_EN so it's one less thing to think about.
