BQ41Z90: BQ41Z90 clarification

Tool/software:

  • BQ41Z90 exposes SWDIO interface. Is it possible that end user would add his own code, like specific procedure before entering SHELF mode or it is only for production programming pruposes?

  • What PLSR output can do? Is it possible to use this output as PACK discharge before enterring storage mode? If not used 2 weeks discharge down to 60% then enter SHELF mode?

  • Does PLSR supports indepenent from host device self discharging down to 30% SOC IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) UN 3481?

  • Can I use cell ballancing outputs to discharge battery instead? Lets assume down to 60% SoC or do I need external MOSFET with dissipation resistors connected to PLSR ?


  • Where 5th LED shall be connected? It is mentioned in TRM. I can’t find in Datasheet.

  • Is there possibility that single tact switch be used for WAKEup and POWEROFF and SHELF storage ?

  • In case if user code won’t be an option. Can I use SDA0 and SCL0 as port for main host communication and secondary SDA1 SCL1 as local management MCU in case SCA0 and SCK0 are not connected? I would like to avoid multi master I2C.

    LED 5 is the Wake pin
