TLE4275-Q1: TLE4275QKTTRQ1

Part Number: TLE4275-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2936Q-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

This is regarding MPN - TLE4275QKTTRQ1. I have following queries:

  1. The MPN’s (Both legacy & new chip) should be ROHS Complaint without exemption.
  2. The lead free contain must be <0.1% (For Both legacy & new chip)
  3. Which part you will suggest to use New chip or legacy chip or I can use any of them
  4. Can you also tell me the exact TI part number for New & legacy chip both.
  5. What is the min & max Input Capacitor required for both legacy & new chip.
  6. Is there any Reverse polarity protection in new chip as in datasheet it is mentioned for legacy chip only. Please confirm.
  7. What is the Junction shutdown temperature & what is the hysteresis for thermal Shutdown for legacy chip.
  8. Is there any overvoltage protection for the legacy & new chip? If yes what is overvoltage & what is the duration for that?
  9. Can you please provide the data of Current Consumption vs Output Current @VIN = 13.5V for new chip.
  10. Can you please provide the data of Current Consumption vs Output Current @VIN = 36V for both legacy & new chip.
  11. Can you please provide the data of Dropout Voltage (VDO) vs IOUT@VIN = 13.5V , @125degC & 25degC for both legacy & new chip.

Note: Please provide all the above data if & only if the MPN is fully ROHS complaint without exemption & lead free contain is <0.1%.

Regards,

Ajay

  • Hi Ajay,

    1. Our Material Content Search listing for the TLE4275QKTTRQ1 indicates the device is RoHS-compliant.
    2. The same tool indicates lead content is below the 0.1% threshold you mention.
    3. Going forward, as inventory of legacy chip devices runs out, only new chip devices will be manufactured. For a new design, I'd recommend using the new chip specifications.
    4. There is not a specific orderable part number for legacy devices. It is possible to order new chip devices exclusively, ensuring the inventory you receive will not consist of legacy devices at all. For the TLE4275QKTTRQ1, new-chip preproduction devices can be ordered as PTLE4275QKTTRM3Q1. The -M3 suffix in the part number indicates new chip devices exclusively.
    5. No input capacitor is required for the legacy chip, though performance may be improved with 1µF or more of input capacitance. No maximum input capacitance is specified for either new or legacy chips.
    6. new chip devices do not feature reverse current protection, as noted in the datasheet. If reverse current flow is expected in your application, external protection is recommended to protect the device
    7. Data is unavailable for the legacy chip.
    8. Neither device features protection from overvoltage. Pin voltages must be limited to the voltages listed in the Absolute Maximum Ratings table to avoid permanent damage to the device
    9. See Figure 5-16
    10. Data for legacy chip is not available. New Chip Iq should be similar to this:
    11. Data for Vin=20V is the closest test condition we have. See Figure 5-21 for new chip. Data for legacy chip is not available

  • Hi Alex,

    Thanks for the Inputs.

All other doubts are cleared except

    9. I am unable to see the curve you have shared in previous reply. Can you please share the datasheet from where you have referred this curve. Please find the below link of datasheet that I am referring. In this current consumption available only for legacy chip. Can you please check

One more query, As this device is subjected to load dump of 60V so is this regulator will survive this load dump condition?

    Regards,

    Ajay

  • Hi Alex,

If this part doesn't survive Load Dump conditions then can you suggest some other part with similar specifications & with same package which is of 60V part.

  • Hi Ajay,

Unfortunately, I'm unable to share the source datasheet, only the curve itself. A link to the image file is here: pastedimage1753218929606v1.png (580×414)

New chip TLE4275-Q1 devices have an absolute maximum Vin rating of 40V, while legacy chips have a 42V absolute maximum input. A 60V input exceeds this and may cause permanent damage to the LDO.

LM2936Q-Q1 is the only KTT-package LDO with a 60V or higher abs max rating, but it is only rated for 50mA output.

    Best Regards,
