BQ25630: Liquid Detection

Part Number: BQ25630

Tool/software:

Hi

Item 7.2.10.1 Liquid Detection and Corrosion Mitigation states that detection uses the connector's open pins (LQD pin) to send a current pulse and perform detection.
What are the possible pins (CC1/CC2 or D+/D-)? Should any hardware be included for this functionality?

BR

Gilberto

  • Hi Gilberto,

Liquid detection feature does not require any additional hardware. With that said I will note you may want to consider hardware to implement a robust protection for the case where liquid is detected. An example to consider would be incorporating a switch to disconnect VBUS from input port for case where liquid is detected.
