TPS62843: Ripple Questions

Part Number: TPS62843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62840

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

Customer is evaluating TPS628437 and has some questions:

  1. What’s the voltage ripple at the light load condition (<10mA, 3.8Vin/1.8Vout) ?
  2. There is no force PWM mode, right?
  3. What’s the inductor size to achieve the efficiency in DS?
  4. If we plan to adopt the small inductor size, for example 0402, could Ti help to evaluate the efficiency?
  5. There is Iq at non-switching and switching at the beginning of EC table. What’re the Vin and Vout values?  The non-switching means no pulse at valid Vout?

Similarly, their measurements show voltage ripples by TPS62843 become less significant when loads are around 100mA:

They believe it is most likely due to a tipping point between PFM mode and PWM mode.

Could you provide more details here?

What’s the exact condition of that tipping point?

And since their application focuses on low ripples at the load with less than 100mA, is there any other suggested parts that work better?

Thank you!
