TPS61094: Unencrypted model

Part Number: TPS61094

Tool/software:

Hi there,

Do we have an unencrypted SPICE model for this device?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Tom

  • Hi Tom,

For the TPS61094, sorry only the encrypted PSpice model is available.

    Regards

    Lei

  • Hi Lei,

I was the one that initiated contact with Tom who then pointed me to this E2E forum.

Is it possible to have an unencrypted model generated? if so, how soon is that doable?

    Thank you,

    Hung

  • Hi Hung,

Sorry, for this device the unencrypted model can be disclosed.

It's highly recommended to estimate the TPS61094 on EVM, which will be more fast and accurate.

    Regards

    Lei

  • I'm not quite sure I understand, or did you mistype that the unencrypted model "cannot" be disclosed?

I agree the EVM will be the best, we're waiting for that to be delivered, but in the meantime I wanted to perform simulations.

On another note, I was just approved to download and use the PSpice for TI application so I tried to open the model on there.

Initially it was opening and was able to see the transient schematic, but when I tried to run the simulation it failed to continue and crashed.

Now when reopening the .opj file it continues to crash. I've deleted the model folder and redownloaded, but still crashes.

    Regards,

    Hung

  • ignore the second note, after a computer reboot the file opens again.

  • Well now I have a new issue. Getting something about RPC server not available when running the simulation and it just hangs up. I have version 23.1-2024 S001 I found a forum post from Cadence from 7 months ago that says this version has an issue and needs S007. How do I get that version?

  • Hi Hung,

Sorry for the confusion! You are right, I mistyped about the unencrypted model.

The correct one should be: "the unencrypted model cannot be disclosed".

I think the encrypted model can work as well for your simulation, the real issue is that this encrypted model cannot run successfully on your side.

I just tried to run the start-up simulation on the encrypted model, it can run successfully.

The app I used is Capture CIS 17.4 under Cadence PCB 17.4-2019.

You may open a new E2E thread to check "PSpice for TI" related question. This app is not maintained by our product line, sorry I've no idea how to get the S007 version.

    Regards

    Lei

  • Thanks Lei,

The simulation suddenly started working Friday afternoon after a few restarts and retries.

The graphs looked exactly like your screenshot.

Thank you for your support, I believe we can close this now.

    Regards,

    Hung

  • Hi Hung,

    Thanks for the good news!

I'll close this E2E thread first. You can still reply here if you have question later.
