TPSM5D1806: Reg:TPSM5D1806RDBR +3.6V generation form +5.5V

Dear team,

We are planning to use TPSM5D1806RDBR in our design.As per our requirement we require +3.6V output voltage from TPSM5D1806RDBR with a input of +5.5V to the converter,As per data sheet it is mentioned as minimum +5.3V input is required to generate +3.3V output from the converter.No minimum input voltage details where provided for +3.6V output.

Is it possible to generate +3.6V from +5.5V input ? If no what is the maximum possible output voltage that can be generated from +5.5V input voltage?

No, it is highly unlikely and is dependent on the output current.

Table 7-1 to 7-3 and Figure 7-3 imply it will not.

Webench on the bottom of the product folder page, can be used to check a design. If webench, returns a "design fail" then it is not a valid use case

Hello David,

Thanks for your response,As you have mentioned we referred the Table 7-1 to 7-3.

As mentioned in Table 7-1,If VIN=5V,at Fsw 1000Khz the output can be generated at a range of 0.5V to 3.9V with a condition of Iout lesser than or equal to 4A,In this condition we will be able to generate 3.6V right? as our Iout is 1.5A(Max)

We have also tried the Webench tool,it had run into an error stating"Hmm we found TPSM5D1806 but it is not supported in this tool ".

Yes, if the current is less than 4A.

At the bottom of the TPSM5D1806 product folder TPSM5D1806 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com

there is a webench panel I chose dual option with 5V input 3.6V output and 2A output.
