TPS6594-Q1: Current consumption of internal RTC

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

Can you please tell me current consumption of internal RTC of PMIC TPS65941

  • Hi Ruchita,

The current consumption of the internal RTC appears to be 7 uA, with a max of about 10 uA.

I found this current within section 7.14 of the TPS6594 Datasheet, in the first row of the table. In the test conditions described for this entry, the RTC and its oscillator are the only components functioning. This should give a pretty clear picture of the current draw from just that system.

There are more entries in a continued section of the above table, but I only included this first section here as it is what is most relevant to your question.

    Best,

    Ethan

  • Is it possible to reduce this current consumption only if RTC is enabled?

  • I do not believe we have defined methods to reduce the current consumption with only the RTC being enabled. As 7 uA is the typical, it may be able to go lower, but likely not consistently.

If you need further clarification on anything I have provided so far, please let me know!

    Best,

    Ethan
