We started testing TPS1214Q1EVM. We encountered some problems during testing.
We start following the EVM user guide.
1. Short circuit current values not available on the document
2. In Table 2.4, J8 section talks about the design calculator.
But I can't find it. if you can, please send it to me We calculate the short-circuit current, and test the board.
See, it can trip at the expected value. The expected short circuit value is 44.6A, but the EVM starts tripping at ~40A.
We realized this may be due to layout.
We add bypass wires as in the picture above.
It fixes the short circuit threshold. We try another short-circuit set point by changing R_ISCP to 1.47 k.
It works as expected. Trip at 75A. (Without modification, it was 65A.)
I2t time When jumper J9 is set to 36A, overcurrent I2t times are not behaving as expected. But J9 at 16A setting and J8 at 1s setting,
at 16A load current, the EVM trips, and it takes approximately 850ms.
